GLENDA WEIR + ANGELA D’ARCY
6 – 17 September 2016
Opening night Tuesday 6 September 5.30 – 7.30pm
Good friends and Queanbeyan residents Glenda Weir and Angela D’Arcy have joined forces to present their first joint exhibition at The Q Exhibition Space this September.
Glenda Weir has been painting for many years, traditionally in oil paints. Three years ago Glenda started experimenting with airbrushing, which now sees her airbrushing on motorbikes; another of Glenda’s passions. For this exhibition, Glenda presents a wide range of works, as she explains ‘I have always had an interest and passion in art of all kinds. I love colours and love creating’.
Angela, who has studied visual arts at the Canberra Institute of Technology, enjoys creating paintings and collages using watercolours and alcohol inks on watercolour and Yuppo paper. For this exhibition, Angela presents her artistic representation of urban and garden landscapes, including cities, city scapes, aerial views, arterial ways and population densities. ‘I emphasise connection between suburbs, motorways and cities using direction, shape, composition and colour’.
