What's On - Art Exhibitions

The Way We Wore

13 - 27 April

An exhibition of wedding gowns worn by the ladies of the country town of Queanbeyan from the early 1880s and presented by The Queanbeyan and District Historical Museum Society.

Everyone loves a wedding and this exhibition exemplifies the diversity of design, the range of fabrics and the social connections of the folk of the Queanbeyan district. The gowns exhibited are from the Museum's own collection and generous loans by local families. They range from the very simple, to lacy extravagances and the sleekly sophisticated.
