About The Addams Family: For anyone growing up in the late 60’s – 70’s, The Addams Family was a TV staple, featuring a kooky extended family with a macabre, alternative outlook on life. Wednesday Addams is the ultimate princess of darkness, who has met a normal sweet boy, Lucas Beineke, and she wants to marry him. She confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his wife, Morticia. Wednesday asks him to help bring the two families together over dinner. But the Addams’ have a policy of tell all and Gomez struggles between the promise he makes to his daughter to keep the secret and his commitment to his wife to tell her everything.

The Beineke family arrives – a repressed Mid-west couple with their understandably nervous son. The Addams’ do their best impersonation of a ‘normal’ family but Morticia suspects her husband is keeping something from her and instigates a game of ‘full disclosure’ – where each member must tell a secret. Both families suddenly find themselves facing an existential crisis.

Funny, charming and tuneful, the show is an infectiously enjoyable treat. The broad age group appeal of The Addams Family is sure to win over all but the very hardest theatrical hearts.
